Good day, Ronou.
Good day indeed!
We'll get started. Did you know you wanted to be a Mage when you were younger?
Oh yeah. Definitely! Sensei always said the best Mages are those who feel stronger towards a certain Element from the start. And I liked Wind... I started training from kindergarten! It was great! Lots of hard work though, but it was better than learning to stack blocks.
There have been doubts and concern surrounding your competence as a hero. Your age and your speedy decisions seem unprofessional. Do you care about the image you are projecting and do you have plans to change it?
Wha... There has? What? What am I doing wrong?!
Well, parading into a forest full of predators wasn't the greatest idea in the world.
Well... They could have been nice!! But...I guess you have a point. I could have done better. I've had better ideas! Really! But I'm new at this adventure stuff, okay?? (sighs) That's why Mune's there too, I guess. She's like my other brain.
Ah, but you didn't approve of her joining you in the beginning although she has proven to be a very useful companion. Was this because you were worried for her safety?
Yeah. Her parents really were worried for her safety. I was with 'em... But then I considered that she is just a...TAD better than me at Magery, so there's nothing to worry about really... If they kept her home, it'd be like 'OHH NO, SEXISM.' 'Cause really, that's all it'd be.
Do you ever think of her as more than a friend?
...What?
Do you ever entertain the idea of taking her out on a date? Having little Ronou and Mune babies? Growing old together?
A-a date?! ...Well...actually... I kinda did, once... But it wasn't a DATE-date... We were just 14, and stuff... And uhm...
I see this is a sensitive subject, so I digress! On your birthday you remarked that you had received crappy gifts. What would you have liked to have preferred to get?
WELL Sougi's dad was just starting to make these cool little ping-pong pad things that he KNEW I wanted... Hey, I need something to entertain myself with in the meantime of my oh-so-heroic expeditions.
What are your first impressions of Sabér?
He's, uh... Well, he's really tall. And uh... Well, he saved our lives...twice, so I guess he's pretty cool for that...
Did you ever have a case of idol worship?
Oh! Yeah! Well, not like that, but... Yeah, back when I was little, I LOVED Leonardo III. I still do! He was the great hero who became one of the rare few Human Avatars in the history of ever! We got a statue of him in the middle of the village's square, and I'd stare at it all day, too. He's so inspiring! And I tell myself, "If he can master four Elements, then I can master at least one!!"
What's your favorite food?
Oh, oh! I can't decide. Does cake count as a food? Mrs. Kitsu tells me it doesn't sometimes. But cake is wonderful. Especially strawberry. Give me some strawberry cake, I'm tellin' ya... You might just win me right there.
If you could journey to the future, would you do it even if you knew you couldn't change things when you return?
Ah... I don't think so. Y'know... I'd rather just stop things before they start. I don't want to know what might happen if I don't do anything. In fact, I'd really rather not think of it...
How long do you estimate it will take you to collect the Gems?
No clue. A long time. We have to get them before 3000, though, so we're pretty much just...aiming for that. 10 months, at most. I don't think we're TOO pressed for time though... Once we get at least one of the Spirits, things will be MUCH easier, anyway. And hope like that, ma'am, is the reason I could take time out to do this interview! (smiles)
We're nearly done, so you can get back to saving the world after this last question! Do you have any plans for when you're older and things have been wrapped up? Do you think you'll continue to travel or have you had enough adventure for your lifetime?
I hope I'll always travel. I'm not quite sure what else I'd do... When it's all over, I'll still be young, after all. I've gotta keep moving. I can't get old early, especially when I've got at least 80 years left. Maybe I'll become legendary, if I continue to improve... Hehehehe.
