The Fusion of Human and Animal
Wildlife

Humans (singular Human): Just like Ronou, Mune, me, or you (hopefully). Humans were the first race that ever existed on the planet, and the only race for a long time. They are pretty typical and boring, not seen as diverse by other races such as Bremen. By some strange twist of history, however, some Humans had become fused with animals, and now pure-blooded Humans are these days a minority. Most other races consider Humans weak or unimportant, but Humans are not to be underestimated, dominating in nature. They usually make up for lack of physical strength with mind power. The strongest Humans are Mages.

Boomen (singular Booman): Baboon people. They are almost exclusive to Seldra. The majority (though not all) of them have wild hair, and the males have baboon-like red-and-blue noses (and behinds), as well as prehensile tails, and elongated ears in addition (as most non-Human races have). They are a reclusive race, keeping only to Fukai Forest. They are very agile and flexible, usually walk on fours (but easily capable of walking on twos), and are able to run and climb trees with great dexterity. They care deeply about the Earth. They dislike most other races and tend to hostilly drive intruders out of their living area (mostly due to their leader, of course). Because of this, not much about their current history is known about them by other races, and not many people care to learn about them anymore. In older history, they broke away from the Humans from their inability to compromise.
The way they speak derived from a cutting down of the Humans' Selarden (English as we know it). This may make them seem dumb, but they are actually quite complex inside, with their own books, scholars, and duties.

Canen (singular Canan): Canine people. These range from the sort that look like dogs with Human bodies to "Humans" with dog-like features, including whiskers, ears, paw pads, and tails. They also span domesticated types (dobermans, dauchsunds, collies, etc.) and wild/exotic types (dingos, wolves, coyotes, foxes), though Wolves sometimes refer to themselves as Wolfen (out of pride). Canen are quite common throughout Seldra and are often in service positions. In general, they can be docile and somewhat more trustworthy than Humans. Few have known to be negatively affected by full blue moons. In their history, they have had strong racial conflicts with the Fenin.

Fenin (singular Fenen): Feline people. These range from the sort that look like cats with Human bodies to "Humans" with cat-like features, including whiskers, ears, paw pads, and tails. Like the Canen, they are common but also more detached. The more "domestic" types tend to be somewhat weak, mostly made of Mages to compensate, but there are also wilder types, such as tiger-Fenin or panther-Fenin. Many harbor a great curiosity and urges to travel. The most of their past conflicts with Canen were brought on by them.

Kaamen (singular Kaaman): Reptilian people. Composed of lizards, iguanas, crocs, dinosaurs, and the like, they commonly have scales and usually lack hair, though some have fur. They also tend to have long claws. Kaamen are mostly found in the desert or marshlike places. Desert Kaamen tend to be nomadic and never settle in one place. In general, they are not kind and tend to pick fights. Their rash hostility can be a drawback, because they are also very strong.

Bremen (singular Breman): Bird people. They usually don't have as many feathers as full-fledged birds do, but they do have wings, either on their backs or (majorly) as part of their arms. They come with or without beaks and sometimes lack hair, with feathers or down in its stead. They seem less common than Canen and Fenin, but this is mostly because they love living in high-up places like large trees and mountaintops.

Drakken (singular Drakan): The Drakken are technically an extension of the Kaamen, but they often consider themselves "above" that race and have thus separated themselves from it. They are dragon/wyvern people (wyverns often calling themselves "Wyfen", though this is optional) who have a great sense of pride and very traditional customs, much like the Bremen. Their appearances fluctuate greatly, from what we would identify as Eastern, Western, and things we have never seen, making them a diverse race. They love to create beautiful things, like music and art of any kind. They, as well as Porpi, are among the most intelligent beings on the planet. On Seldra, they are somewhat rare.

Porpi, Dolfi, and Koipe: Dolphin/porpoise/fish people. As one could imagine, their anthromorphic forms are strange and diverse. Dolfi are perhaps the most intelligent races on the entire planet. They have always had an aversion to land-dwellers. No one comes into contact with this race often, as they cut themselves off from the rest of the world by living underwater, though a few may be seen in pirate ships or around exploring, having broken away from their old life. Few have managed to see their beautiful creations, though the occasional seafarer may. It is argued whether or not merpeople fit into this category.

Besides these races, there are also a many other miscellaneous ones, too extensive to name, such as mouse people, bear people, horse people, and, though rare, even certain kinds of Cho Ikii (though Cho Ikii-people are looked down upon for their natural ability to manipulate Elements). They are generally more sparse, especially on Seldra. These more unnamed races are usually referred to as "demi", as in demi-Mouse, demi-Bear, etc.
On top of this, there are special races such as Centaurs, Fauns, Satyrs, Elves, and so on. None of these live on Seldra naturally.

THE FUSION OF HUMAN AND ANIMAL
Humans and animals became fused around the year 1000, creating all-new races for the world. This fusion occured with several different results: a person would still look somewhat Human but have strong animal attributes - what is called "1/2", for 1/2 Human, 1/2 animal. These types can even sometimes have, for example, a muzzle or beak on an otherwise Human face. Some Human-looking demis with lesser animal attributes would be "1/4", for 1/4 animal. Notably, 1/2s can cloak their animal attributes with magic skill. If the person had more animal-like facial and body structure, s/he would be called "3/4", for 3/4 animal. These types usually still have all-encompassing fur or scales, and could have fur or scales for hair accordingly, though some retain true hair.

+Wildlife+
Thanks to Seldra's incredibly varied geography, it also allows for many various types of wildlife. Besides your generic animals, such as dogs, or deer, Seldra also hosts lots of unique animals.
Animals can host Elemental properties and thus be weak against certain types of Elements or strong against others.

Red-Crested Boas These colorful snakes are known to only live within Fukai Forest. They are highly poisonous, with a type of poison that, if not treated promptly, can start eating away at the flesh. The boas and their queen, Schalah, made a pact with the Boomen to never bother each other in their own parts of the forest, but the pact has been violated several times by both sides. (Non-Elemental)

Flurries Tiny blue birds that live on snowy mountaintops. They are often seen coming to the aid of weary or fallen climbers, much like St. Bernards (only smaller and more in number). Using special powers, they will try to revive the fallen traveler or get help if they can not. (Ice-Elemental)

Faries Fairies of all sorts tend to live in flowers. Besides taking gentle care of the flowers, they offer advice to anyone who bothers to stop and talk to flowers. Some consider this myth, but it is actually quite true. Most fairies have dispersed recently due to the stirring of evil forces. (Non-Elemental)

Furries Furry fairies. No one knows their origins, but they tend to be a lot more hostile and manipulate Elements to their advantage. Luckily, they are rare. (Multi-Elemental)

Cho Ikii Animals with emerald blood. They're notably the only kinds of animals (except dragons and phoenixes) who can use Elemental Magic by nature. There are literally hundreds of species. (Multi-Elemental)

Star Chasers A species of reptile that are usually dark blue or black with yellow or white (and occasionally red/green/cyan) star specks on their spine-like fur. They are usually seen flying through the sky at night, although they have no wings. (Non-Elemental)

Sky Streamers A species of furry reptile much similar to the Star Chasers. They, too, can fly without wings, and their fur spans the many colors of the spectrum. They also appear to glow in the dark. They "stream the sky", creating rainbows. (Non-Elemental)

Chokara Rare breeds of reptilian canine, often found in red, green, or blue, but not limited to those colors. Long ago, they were a towering and intelligent race, but that can hardly be said of them now. (Non-Elemental)

Dragons The dragons that roam Seldra are generally docile, but a few of them get hostile every once in a while. Some people keep smaller ones as pets. Most of them are Fire-Elemental, but there are ones with other Elemental properties as well. They were once a proud race, but now they are reclusive, leaving that description only to the Drakken. Three major types include: Earth Westerns, Earth Easterns, and Jet Dragons, streamlined, large-winged dragons with skin rather than scales. (Multi-Elemental)

Phoenixes It has been said that there was only one Phoenix, continually being reborn throughout the years, but it supposedly disappeared around 1000 years ago. (Fire-Elemental)

Draconixes Whether or not they still exist is rumor, but they have been seen - the mystical and rare hybrid of Dragon and Phoenix. They are, however, as rarely seen as the Phoenix. (Fire/Ice-Elemental)

Dinosaurs They are not extinct. They are very alive indeed; and in wide varieties, sometimes also kept as pets or trained, like dragons. Most of them, however, tend to grow huge and thus are warded away from villages. There are also dinosaur-dragon hybrids. (Non-Elemental)

Sea Monsters Technically referred to as "hydro-hydras." They are only located in Osha, the Great Ocean surrounding Seldra. Draconic and very destructive, they often ruin anything or anyone who trespasses in "their" ocean. They are part of the reason people often don't travel to or from Seldra. Since travel is rare, they're not worried about much anymore, since they apparently never come to land. (Water/Earth-Elemental)

Unicorns These mystical horned horses once were common, like fairies, and people rode them like common horses or mules. However, as the years passed, people slowly became more corrupt, and the Unicorns started disappearing; and while people could not see through their corruption, the Unicorns disappeared almost completely. (Multi-Elemental)

Pegasi These winged horses are incredibly rare, also, and yet even rarer are the unicorn-pegasus hybrids named Unisus, who are today thought to be merely myth. Some have claimed to see these in their dreams. (Non-Elemental)

If any non-Cho Ikii-looking animal appears to manipulate Elements, it may contain a small amount of Cho Ikii blood.
